How to Measure
Measure with a soft measuring tape. Measurements C and D are adjustable. However is it still IMPORTANT to provide accurate measurements for the best fit possible.
Measurement A is slightly adjustable ( Screw system), Measurement B is NOT adjustable
A) Chest straps- measure one side only not the entire circumference of your pet's neck
B) Back length- from the base of the neck to the chest circumference line.
C) Girth circumference- about 3 cm behind the front legs or the widest part of the chest. (This will be adjustable)
D) Sternum - chest circumference line
Y- SHAPED HARNESS SIZING:
Girth measurement : Measure around the largest part of the ribs, behind the front legs.
Sternum measurement: Measure from the center of the chest, in between the front legs down to where the girth strap would sit. This measurement is for the bottom part of the "Y" harness.
What you should know:
It is very important to have the right size harness for your dog's health.
(REFER TO IMAGE 2 )
1) The Y of the harness should sit on the sternum for free shoulder and larynx
2) Between the chest belt and the chest of the dog should fit 2 fingers, so it is not too loose but also not too tight.
3) The chest straps should be positioned so that the distance to the front legs is large enough to not restrict freedom of movement
4) If the harness is pulling, the chest strap should be in front of the last rib arch.
Please monitor regular use of this harness with your pet, especially for first-time users. Prolonged use may cause friction burn, especially if your pet is not used to it or is performing high-impact activity, particularly in water. We recommend wearing it for short walks to start then slowly increase duration and intensity as time goes on.
